At the 2003 Australian Professional Photography Awards
that took place in Melbourne, I was judged by
my peers and was awarded 3 Silver Awards.

To achieve this level of photography is very difficult
and it is a great honor to be judged by
my colleagues and be recognized by the
Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP)
and industry peers.

The photographs were awarded for their high standard of
professional practice, craft and skill. Images must
be high on initial impact, composition, lighting, tonal range,
colour harmony, technical skill and
presentation to be successful in such award events.

June, 2002

At the 2002 Australian Professional Photography Awards
that took place in Perth, I was judged by
my peers and was awarded 3 Silver Awards.

October, 2001

This web site has been redesigned to improve its appearance
together with the quality and format of the photos in the galleries.
We have also improved the navigation within the galleries.

At the 2001 Australian Professional Photography Awards
that took place in Brisbane, I was judged by
my peers and was awarded 3 Silver Awards.

July, 2000

The Gallery has been updated with new images.
There is a separate "Poster Gallery" which displays all the posters
that are available for purchase.
Also, there are two new galleries, "The Fire from the Sky Lightning Gallery"
and "The Underwater Gallery" all with brand new images.

May, 2000

At the 2000 Australian Professional Photography Awards
that took place in Sydney, I was judged by
my peers and was awarded 3 Silver Awards and a
Silver Award with a Distinction.

February, 2000

The image titled 10 Billion Volts
received an Award of Distinction in Creative Achievement
for Photography which was granted by
Creativity 29 which is based in Cincinnati, OH

The Creativity 29 competition attracted more than 7,000
pieces from 40 states in the US and 40 countries all over the world.

August, 1999

At the 1999 Canon, Western Australian Professional Photographer of
the Year Awards, I was runner up in the Landscape Category.

May, 1999

At the 1999 Australian Professional Photography Awards
that took place in Melbourne, I was judged by
my peers and was awarded 4 Silver Awards.

As a result of receiving these awards, I have now attained
the Master of Photography honors awarded by the Australian
Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP).

February, 1999

At the 1998 PICA (Printing Industries Craftsman Awards)
Frank Daniels Pty LTD was awarded a Gold PICA Certificate
for the category "Commercial Posters and Showcards"
for my posters titled Liquid Fire, Armageddon,
Fire from the Sky, Cataclysm and The Genesis Collection.

These prints were also awarded the Gold PICA Trophy
which is the overall excellence award for outstanding printing.

January, 1999

The images titled Armageddon, Liquid Fire and Cataclysm
received an Award of Distinction in Creative Achievement
for Photography which was granted by
Creativity 28 which is based in Cincinnati, OH

December, 1998

Majon International sponsors Web Select which
is a recognition service to further develop and encourage
creativity, quality design and usefulness in purpose for
Web site owners and creators.

This Web Site was a
WINNER of the most esteemed Majon's Web Select
"SEAL OF
EXCELLENCE AWARD."

It is awarded to web sites which exhibit intuition, graceful design,

I'm often asked about the difficulties experienced
when trying to use the camera's exposure
meter in low light situations.

By applying the halving and doubling principle
(using shutter and aperture together), there are
a number of things that you can do and these
are explained in How to Photograph in Low Light.

February, 1998

I've just released another 5 posters, which now
takes my Fine Art Lithographic collection
to a total of 12 posters.

The new posters are:

"Cataclysm" which is in a panoramic format,
900mm x 350mm in size,

"Genesis triptych" which is in a panoramic format,
1000mm x 350mm in size.
This triptych comprises 3 consecutive photos with
the final image being "Genesis" which also is available
as a 800x 600mm poster.

The other images which are the same size as my
existing posters, i.e., 800 x 600mm in size include
"Fire from the Sky" , "Liquid Fire" and "Armageddon"
